At the U13 age group, we will not be hosting separate A Team tryouts for 2023.
How many teams we host each season, at each age level, is entirely based on registration numbers. In the past (pre-Covid), we have been able to predict, with some degree of accuracy, the number of teams we will field each season. For the coming 2023 season, we are predicting that we will have either 5 or 6 teams at U13. This age group has seen some of the most difficult registration numbers to predict post-Covid. If we have 5 teams the tiering document states we enter 1 A team and 4 parity B teams. If we have 6 teams the tiering document states we enter 2 A teams and 4 parity B teams. Registration closes on March 15, 2023 - we will not know how many teams we will be hosting until that date.
Simply stated, we will not know if we are hosting 2 A teams before we are set to begin A tryouts. As a result, we will be running all U13 evaluations at the same time. This will allow us the ability to establish 1 or 2 A teams as required depending on our registration numbers.
