A TEAM TRYOUTS - QUICK LOOK
Our 2026 A Tryouts are set to begin on Saturday February 21st.
A Team members should anticipate an increased level of commitment, including, but not limited to, time, participation and financial. These are factors to consider when a player and their family choose to try out for an A Team.
Families can also expect increased financial contributions (extra floor time/dryland), tournament travel expenses etc. Should these expectations not fit your family’s current situation, please consider attending our B/C evaluation sessions.
Previous A Team playing experience does not guarantee placement on this season's A Team.
Cuts to the evaluation group will be made throughout the process.
Full attendance is the best way for your player to showcase all their skills to our evaluators for data collection.
A Team Tryouts are a combination of drills and scrimmage play. The on-floor evaluation process will be led by third party Junior coaches and players as well as select high level Sabrecats coaches.
Players are evaluated on core lacrosse fundamentals appropriate for their age level.
For example:
Passing/Catching, Shooting, Physical Endurance, Stick Skills, Athleticism, Defensive Ability, Overall Game Sense, Attitude/Effort, Coachability and Lacrosse IQ.
Sabrecats A Teams will be announced at the same time as their Age Group B and C teams; after registration closes on March 15, and all evaluation data have been analyze.
