Important Update – Making Ethical Decisions (MED)
Effective for the 2026 Season
The transition of Making Ethical Decisions (MED) from the current online format to an eLearning-only format has been implemented through an NCCP partnership led by the Coaching Association of Canada, to standardize MED training nationwide.
If you have previously taken a coaching course that included Making Ethical Decisions (MED) as part of the training, please log in to coach.ca and complete the MED online evaluation.
If you completed in-person or classroom MED training, the online evaluation is typically available at no cost
This situation has commonly occurred in other sports, such as Coach 1 (Hockey) and Football, where MED was embedded within certification courses
Coaches are encouraged to check their NCCP Locker to confirm their MED status and complete the evaluation if required before March 31.
March 8: Last day to register for the final SPAR MED course
March 15: Final date the current online MED training will be offered
Cost: $45
Coaches who complete the training must also complete the online evaluation by March 31 (no cost)

MED will move to eLearning through the NCCP Locker
Cost: $85
The previous online training and evaluation will no longer be available
As directed by Lacrosse Canada, MED is required for all coaches from U7 through U17.
Coaches are strongly encouraged to register by March 8 and complete the course and evaluation before March 31 to remain compliant for the 2026 season and take advantage of the lower-cost option.
