NEW 2026 CLA Coaching Requirements
As we prepare for the 2026 lacrosse season, we would like to share an important overview of Coach Certification Requirements as outlined by Lacrosse Canada. As there have been several significant changes, please review this information carefully to ensure you meet all requirements to be on the bench.
Non-compliant coaches will be removed from the bench as of May 15, 2026.
General Coach Requirements (All Levels)

All coaches on the bench (Head and Assistant) must meet certification requirements

Coaches may complete one certification course per season

First-year coaches must begin with Community Development

Coaches showing “In Training” in their NCCP Locker for courses taken 2019-present remain eligible to coach (known NCCP / Lacrosse Canada issue)
NEW for 2026 - Required NCCP Pre-Training - (Free, Online) Available in the locker
U7 - U13 Coaches
U15 - U17 Coaches
These modules are free, completed online through NCCP, and can be started now, pre-season.
Important Update - Making Ethical Decisions (MED)
All coaches (U7-U17) require MED for the 2026 season.
